Red face Troubles searchin string in CLOB with DBMS_LOB.INSTR()

Hi folks!

I'm having troubles searching for a given string in a CLOB-field. I use DBMS_LOB.INSTR(), but it always returns only one record, even when there are certainly many more.

The funny thing is: " SELECT count(id) FROM section WHERE dbms_lob.INSTR(section.text, 'Hilfe') > 0 " returns for example 252.

But if the query is " SELECT header FROM section WHERE dbms_lob.INSTR(section.text, 'Hilfe')>0 " it returns only one record.

Any help is greatly appreciated, it's for the website of a humanitarian NGO, so it counts as a good deed.

Cool,
I am also stuck at the same problem, as to how to search for CLOB objects.
I am glad to see ur question right when I needed the solution so badly.

I posted two questions earlier but didnt get a response.
Good to see that you have some idea as to how to proceed.
