Arrow log file switching

Dear Readers,

I have a serious question here. Please throw some light on it.

When a log file switch struck(Switching unsuccessful) what happens. Will the database function as usual or will it give a error or will user be interrupted. What hapopens internally ?

Please mail me at manips15@hotmail.com

Thanks and regards
mani PS

Re: log file switching

Hi,
When ur database is in archive mode & when log file switchs then it is being copied to archive log file. In my opinion, if log file switch is not successful, it will not hv any chnage to ur database and also log file will all the information in tact as if nothing has happended.

Regards,
