Unhappy problem with SQL*PLUS

Hi all Iam sridhar here..
When Iam trying to open editor in sqlplus on solaris..
it says..
"SQL> ed
Wrote file afiedt.buf
65
/
?
q

1 select tablespace_name ,lpad(file_name,50)
2* from dba_data_files
SQL>
"
It cant open vi editor..
Pls.help me out..

(1) go to login.sql or glogin.sql and Include the following line at top.

define _editor=vi

You can also define at the start of SQLPLUS session.

(2) also include the following line into your bash_profile (if You use B/K shell)

export EDITOR=vi

(3) If you use C-shell. then "setenv EDITOR=vi".
