Post Load balancing

Hi ,
I have 2 servers ,both with forms and report services ( one each).I have a load balancer(Hardware). When a report is run on a client will the request first go to the forms server which would do the re-direction or the load balancer would take up the report request and decide which server the report should run with out the form server getting involved.

Thanking you
raj

Maybe. It depends upon how everything has been configured.
It depends upon exactly how the report is being sumbitted,
because more than 1 way to submit a report exists.

I think the statment above is not correct.
I have functioning load balancing on both my 9iAS R2 Forms & Reports servers
Can you say the same?

Hi
No it is not that way. I got what i was looking for.

There would be basically 3 layers
1. Client
2. Load balancing layer
3. Application server layer

In the load balancing layer i will have an NLB , a layer 7 switch, and then two HTTP servers. The load from the network would be balanced between them. The HTTP server would have a software load balancer ie a load balancer server. This server would be fed with load information on each of the forms / reports servers on a periodic basis .

Application servers would have the load balancer clients which contain load information on the servers . This information would be available to both the HTTP servers which would user it for load balancing .
