Ingres

Hi

I have recently started a new job and the database that they use is Ingres, They also use openroad.

I have managed to download both and would like to install or create a very simple database in ingres in order to play around with. I am aware that there are a couple of .dat files in the ingres directory and wondered if these can easily be set up as proper databases.

If anyone can point to a very quick and simple way to set up at least one basic database I would be very grateful.

Many Thanks

Creating a database in Ingres

Presuming the DBMS is installed on your local machine and you are logged on under the user account that performed the installation, simply open up to command box (windows, linux or unix and enter)
