DB7 use in XP

I cannot seem to run DB7 on my XP machine. I am returning to building a database for my business after a long absence and I would like to use something familiar. Anyone have any ideas.
Thanks in anticipation of a reply.

Ok, I'll byte... DB7 sppears to be an extension to an XML manager for dealing with binary data (like pictures, video, sound, etc). Is that what you're talking about?
