Hi all,
like many people in this thread, I found dbforums when I searched for more info on non-existent support for Brilliant Database.
First of all, I don't get why such good piece of software is virtually abandoned, and I hope that nothing bad happened to it's author.
Now, some questions, if anyone has the answers:
Have anyone bought BD Pro recently? Is it safe to byu it? Who's handling the purchase, BD staff, or third party vendor? I like the software so much, that I would buy it regardless of missing support, but then, I'm not sure will I receive serials when my money evaporate from my card...
Then, what are the differences between Commercial and Home versions?
I would like to buy one Pro and one Workplace edition, Pro for me to have it at home to create database, and Workplace for my wife to take at her lab (she is intern at University bio lab) to enter the data there. After she feeds all the data she needs, I would have to create queries and reports needed for her thesis.
Also, if anyone here can give me "4 dummies" explanation how to combine results from three (mixed, numbers and text, but all should be treated like text) drop down lists and show them as one non editable text field (hidden or not, it doesn't matter)? I can't figure this out, even when I look at example database from their site.
I know chances are slim that someone here can answer those questions instead of BD support, but then, I feel I must try.
Sorry for this "carpet" of a first post,
cheers, Michael
