Question Interbase 5.6 Windows 2003 Server
Help!!

Logging onto a interbase 5.6 installed on a windows 2003 server takes AGES!! we are talking about 1 minute or so just to connect.

we are connecting VIA the BDE from a delphi application. the speed also happens when running it on the server itself.

Can anyone shead any light on this? Please?

Use FireBird
When Interbase went open source a company by the name of Firebird had rewriten the Interbase server to solve such problems.

http://firebird.sourceforge.net/

Since it is still interbase your data needs no conversions. We have done it here and will not go back.
