Hi,
Progress ships their products with electronic documentation. I can recommend you to study CD containing documentation in PDF format. It is available for Progress 9 and OpenEdge 10. This documentation has a very logic structure, splited for the particular Progress products (database, application server, application builder, 4GL language etc.).
