I work in Education and we are going to be converting our IBM VSE CICS based mainframe system over to a system with software from Datatel and using the IBM Unidata Database.

A firm named Rose & Tuck is doing a fit-gap analysis for us now. Datatel has a basic design for education called Colleague and we will be converting what we have to work within their basic data structures and doing some modification as needed.

We still have not decided on portal or web based products and the reporting tools we plan on using. All we know for sure is we will use Unidata as the database product because it is the database of choice by the vendor.

I am just looking for some basic information. Not from their website, but third pary infomation and comments.
