ACT ''System Field''

Hi, Im trying to do a new contact entry on ACT. Everytime we type on the surname or first name field a message displays: This is a ACT ''System field'' and no data can be entered. I tried to look at the field attributes but could not find the field names??? Please help Im clueless....
