Linked DB2 Table in Access not showing DECIMAL

We are using Access 97 (and Access 2000 as well) to link to a DB2 V8 database. Most of the fields seem to match up, data-type-wise, pretty well except the fields that are defined as DECIMAL in the DB2 database.

These DECIMAL fields are being displayed at "Text" data-types on the Access design layouts and seemingly are giving the developers/testers grief while they are trying to test.

I'm a DB2 DBA and really rather familiar with Access but I just can't seem to figure this one out. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

Thanks,
