Need help for DBplus / db++

Hi!

I want to connect to a db++ or as it is also called DBplus using Java or Perl. It is really hard to find usefull information how to do that.

Do I need a separate driver for Java or ist it included in the JDK?
Are there any examples or documentations?

Hopefully one of you is able to help me!!
