edit multi or sub value with the Universe ED command

Hello
I'm getting myself trained in the usage and administration of universe database. I've been facing a challenge for a week now.
I want to edit a multi value with the ED commande. i have problem typing the special caracter like (y letter with accent) and others.
Do i need a tool to change multi value? what key should i type to obtain the y letter with accent?

Please help me.

i use Reflexion or wintegrate as tool to connect and my universe database runs on HP UX. Is it a unix problem?
