Fast Database

I am looking a high performance embeddable client server database and was wondering if anyone has any opinions.
Optimally, I would like to be able to do around 1000 rw / sec.

Thanks!

Some one recommended RDM Embedded as a possible solution. I have not heard too much about them, does anyone have any opinions on them?

Thnx

Some one recommended RDM Embedded (from Birdstep Technology/Raima Corp) as a possible solution. I have not heard too much about them, does anyone have any opinions on them?

Thnx

I thought of mysql, but turned it down because:

1) It is a client-server architecture and I want an embeddable standalone configuration.

2) It is a memory hog (as are relational DB's)

3) I need a higher performance database than most relational DB's.

Has have had any experience with Sleepcat Database?

I need to explain that first reason, I have changed my needs to a standalone db, and not a client server. :-) Sorry!

I am playing now and then with SleepyCat and yes, it is a really fast thing. If the interface provides enough functionality for you, I would give it a try.

Insert speed is somewhat around 100000 records per second javascript:smilie(%27%3A)%27)
