I am puzzled here by a strange problem. last week, in our server (OpenVMS) database base reported a error message that it reach maximum number of lock in particular tables as follows:-

::[II_DBMS_BB_824 , 070BE040]: 8-JUN-2002 01:26:53 E_DM9041_LK_ESCALATE_TABLE Maximum number of locks for transaction exceeded. Escalating to table level lock on table acc_accessory in database ppasdb .

This message start at 01:26 hrs and check point in database started at 01:30 hrs. Once the checkpoint started I have noticed number of dump files created by checkpoint. And after few hrs it complain about the space and checkpoint failed.

Is anyone put some light on it that why it happened? there was no other process of job was running on system.
