Access violation

We have a VB program that uses Openlink to access a Progress database and based on info in the Progress database, add or delete records in an MSAccess database. It may work for a week, a month, a day, a couple of hours before getting an Access violation 0xC0000005 at address 0x1f7d64ae. In the Dr. Watson log the function that caused the error is SQLSetStmtAttrW and is in the ODBC32.dll. I am unable to reproduce the problem at will. I do not call any APIs to ODBC32 so I am assuming that the Openlink driver must be.. ANY HELP would be appreciated..
