Wink Topspeed Softvelocity driver

Hi all;
I'm using the topspeed ODBC driver 3.0
I want to update a .tps (topspeed file) using the Update sql statement:
'Update table set field=value where x=1'
I'm getting this error:
Error: Expected lexical element not found: = (State:37000, Native Code: 3F7)

Is there a special syntax for topspeed to run an Update?

Thanks.
