PI/Open and Universe

Has anyone tried to read a Universe data file with PI/Open?

Are there any conversion applications out there to change one to the other?

PI Open to UniVerse

PI/Open is a flavour of PICK. UniVerse is a flavour of PICK. To get from one to another you may need to select a "File Type" which is common and then they BOTH should be able to read and write to the same file.

What release of UniVerse are you using? UniVerse 10 has specific new verbs to bring that flavour closer to PI/Open.

Re: PI Open to UniVerse

Unfortunately, I'm only running PI/Open. I have data files restored from another system that were writing using UniVerse.

I'd like to be able to read the UniVerse files by simply creating a VOC pointer. It looks like I'll either have to buy UniVerse of find a conversion utility of some sort.

Thanks.

Talking

IBM provide a 2 user UniVerse 10 for Windows free on the web.
What kind of system was the original UniVerse saved from? If it was WinNT IBM may have given you an way out.

UniVerse 10 is a very useful release. I has many features which may come in handy in the near future anyway. As far as I am aware PI/Open has not been updated in years.

I did notice that 2 unser license, but I thought I read about some modulo limitations of 40 or so. I'm afrad these files are much larger.
They came from a HP/ux system.

Both the UniVerse and the PI/open data are from legacy systems and the data would only be used for historical lookup.

Thumbs up

The modulo limit is 10,007 in a 40 to 60meg file.

Check the details at

Good Luck.
