PI/Open ant it's export tools

Dear Folk
My problem is I have got an order from my boss to find out how to export data from PI/Open to DBMS such as: MySQL, Oracle and bla bla bla. Though, I even don't know what PI/Open is?
Can anyone give me some URL that explain about PI/Open, now I'm reading this http://www.ladybridge.com/id91.htm.
Moreover, are there any tools to convert data from PI/Open to DBMS?
