i'm trying to extract data from a couple of Pervasive dta files through odbc with an Delphi application. because my customer don't wont touched his database system i had to copy the dta files in a temporary directory to extract data. i have psql 9 installed, the dta files are from the version 7.
when i try to open the tables i always get the error -19.

is it possible to open pervasive tables version 7 with psql 9?
to delete the static path i used updttabl.exe, but i can't open the tables.
is there any way to solve this problem, maybe importing or converting dta files?

Can you open the tables through the PCC?
Are you using TTable, TQuery, PvTable, PvQuery, or something else to access the table?
What's the entire error message?
You don't need to import or convert the data.

yes i can open some of the tables through pcc, but not all tables i want to open. i always get the error -19 in pcc without discription. the tables i can open, are opened first with version 8 of pcc. after installing pcc 9 i tried to open other tables, but this does't work.

i'm using tdatabase and ttable in delphi.

Sounds like you've got paths (either relative or absolute) in the DDFs. Issue the following statement:
SELECT * FROM X$FILE
and look at each table that's giving you an error. Specifically, you'll want to look at the XF$LOC field. Ideally, it will only have the file name. If it's got a path, you need to remove them or put the files into the proper path.
