You can use SQL syntax only if Peachtree has provided data dictionary files (DDFs) for the database. Search for any files with an extension of .ddf.
I'm not aware of any client for this version of Btrieve. Later versions of Pervasion include a utility, SQL Data Manager, that allows you to browse the data, provided DDFs exist.
There is no JDBC driver for Btrieve v6.5.
Note that Btrieve 6.5 is no longer supported by Pervasive. However, we still have a few Btrieve 6.15 manuals available on our Web site, which may be of some help: http://www.pervasive.com/support/tec...rv615_docs.asp

I am trying to retrieve data from Peachtree for use in a custom JAVA application. I have downloaded and installed an ODBC driver that works with Btrieve, connected to it through Suns JDBC-ODBC bridge, and can see the tables (I'm using Squirrel to test this). However, whenever I try to see any of the data, I crash the program.
I'm still pretty green when it comes to this database, so I have some questions.
Can I use basic SQL syntax to reference data out of Peachtree's Btrieve database?
Does anyone know of a client that would allow me to browse though this data?
Is there a working JDBC driver for Btrieve v6.5 that I could use instead of having to use a bridge (I found a Pervasive one on thier site, but you have to have a version of Pervasive installed to extract it for some reason)?
Thanks in advance for the help.
