    Unanswered: Listener security

    Hi,

I am testing the listener security.
I have set a password for the listener.
I have 2 questions about this:
    - When I do a 'lsnrctl status', I see in
    Oracle9: Security: ON
    , and in
Oracle10ecurity ON: Password or Local OS Authentication

How can I change my Oracle9 configuration so that I can locally user lsnrctl without a password, just like I can in Oracle10? Or is this a new feature of Oracle10?

    Second question:
    - how do I now start my listener from a script?
    I have tried this:
    lsnrctl <<EOF
    set password <pass>
    status
    EOF

But that didn't work ("the listener has not recognized the password")

    Thanx

    Found the answers myself...

    - yes it's a Oracle10 feature (default)

    - you have to use the encrypted password in your script
