    Question Unanswered: Listener dead TNS-12547

    Hi!
    Oracle 9i EE 9.2.0.3.
    Listener dead second time with errors in Listener.log:

    TNS-12547: TNS:lost contact
    TNS-12560: TNSrotocol adapter error
    TNS-00517: Lost contact
    32-bit Windows Error: 54: Unknown error
    TNS-12500: TNS:listener failed to start a dedicated server process
    TNS-12560: TNSrotocol adapter error
    TNS-00530: Protocol adapter error

    09-JUN-2004 15:48:21 * 12502
    TNS-12502: TNS:listener received no CONNECT_DATA from client

    Restart listener not help.
    Only restart database, mashine help.
    Whats up?

    What does your LISTENER.ORA look like ??? Is it setup properly?
    What does listener tell you when you try and start it manually?

    from command prompt: lsnrctl
    lsnrctl> status
    lsnrctl> stop
    lsnrctl> start

    Hi, Gregg.
    When I do command lsnrctl stop/start, listener work....
    Listener.ora OK.
    But, I want find reason.....

    When do you get the error ??? I'm assuming that you are running in a Windows OS environment. What version and patch level ? From what I gather, once you get the error, the only way to get the listener to work is to reboot the machine ??? You can turn tracing on from the listener and the client side and see what is happening...

    Tns-12547

    Hi,

    I do have the same problem...

    I have Orcale 8.1.7 running on W2000 server with 2 instance running on it for 2 different application tool i have.

    While application running i get the message " Service died * servcie name* 12547 TNS-12547: TNS: Lost contact" & the application stops also.

    If i restart server again it wil work for say 10 mts...then same problem.

    It was working fine for almost 6 months...i didn't changed any settings.

    What could be the problem & where i have to specifically look.
