Lightbulb Unanswered: Multiuser Environment: MsgBox on another PC

In a multiuser environment, is it possible to get a message box to pop up on a users pc which is triggered when someone else clicks a button on a different pc?

    eg.

    Person 1 clicks button
    Person 2 message box opens.

Kinda like an instant messenger type thingie.

    Any help appreciated.

Eh, that's not really recommended, and Access does not natively support such features. AT best, you could execute some commandline and make use of NETSEND, but again, I wouldn't recommend it.
oh yeah... documentation... I have heard of that.

I suppose you could create a table for messages then have each Frontend automatically pole for their respective message or messages (should one exist) at specific intervals using a hook. Of course some criteria will need to be met.

Pretty sloppy way of doing it though..

I too would recomend using the net send in a shell command... You would be sending the message to a logged in person rather than a specific machine...
