Question Unanswered: db2 connect -> SQL0104N An unexpected token "!" was found following "<identifier>".

i am trying to connect to a DB2 8 database (JARMY1) on Win2k that i've established with a username of jason1 and a password of JAS0n1! (the complex pwd is due to network domain controller issues at my company).

when i try to connect to the JARMY database via DB2 CLP as such, i get the following error:

    C:\Program Files\IBM\SQLLIB\BIN>db2 connect to JARMY1 user db2admin using db2admin!
SQL0104N An unexpected token "!" was found following "<identifier>".
Expected tokens may include: "NEW". SQLSTATE=42601

    C:\Program Files\IBM\SQLLIB\BIN>

it seems that the DB2 GUI tools are able to connect OK on the DB server (i guess it's using the local registry info) but aside from that i'm stuck.

is this a known DB2/Windows issue? is there a workaround besides relaxing our network password restrictions?

    many thanks in advance

    jason

Try to enter password when db2 CLP asks for it.

    CLP> db2 connect to JARMY1 user db2admin using

    Then enter password on prompt.

    Kuckoo.
