This access violation message repeats 65 times then I get the following:

sqlsrvr.exe: master device size for this server: 30.0 Mb
sqlsrvr.exe: master database size for this server: 6.0 Mb
sqlsrvr.exe: model database size for this server: 2.0 Mb

    'C:\sybase\ASE-12_5\init\logs\log0616.001'.
    06/16/04 00:14:21 AM Log close.

    Things I have tried:

    1. I have tried using the server config utility to reconfigure the server with no success.

    2. I have deinstalled the product, deleted the C:\sybase directory and even gone into the registry and removed the keys there. I then do a clean installation of sybase 12.5.1, but I always end up right back where I started with the above problem.

    3. I have rebooted amny times between deinstalling and reinstalling, but always end up with the same error as above.

As you can see I my system is now down, so if you can please help as soon as you can.

    Thanks in advance,
    Todd Reynolds

It looks as though you're trying to recreate the ASE

Do you have permissions over the location where the master device is being created?
Is there a master device already in the location where you're trying to create it?
