    Question Unanswered: TOAD And Oracle

When killing a query TOAD, does it also kill it on the DB server? Or does it depend upon the user's privelages... lets say i write a query without any joins and it involves three tables with 1Million records each and after I execute I realize that the query is complete crap and I cancel it in TOAD, will it also kill the process on the server?

    Thanks

If you cancel the query via the cancel button, it should clean up the server process. If you cancel the query by closing out of Toad (ie end tasking), it will strand the server process, which the DB will "eventually" clean up but often takes time.

That's what I figured, I just couldn't find any info on it. Thanks a lot, I appreciate it.
