Smile Unanswered: Lock on database causing no results

    Hello:

I am makinga webpage in dream weaver and i am trying my connection to the database and i get the following error "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '(unknown)'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.

For some reason the database has a blue lock on the database, i have not locked the database or put passwords on it, i am truley stumped. I fis go in to the recordsets i can see the data in the tables but it wont display it on the page

    Any help greatly appreciated>

This wouldn't be an issue with ASP then. If this is an Access DB, you would probably get a more complete answer in the MS Access forum.

Don't know if this might hopefully help at all.

In Access to make it so the default is NOT to open the database exclusively each time:
Tools | Options | Advanced | Default Open Mode of Shared instead of Exclusive
