Smile Unanswered: How to Get blue lock off databse

    Hello:

I am makinga webpage in dream weaver and i am trying my connection to the database and i get the following error "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers (0x80004005)
[Microsoft][ODBC Microsoft Access Driver] The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file '(unknown)'. It is already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view its data.

For some reason the database has a blue lock on the database, i have not locked the database or put passwords on it, i am truley stumped. I fis go in to the recordsets i can see the data in the tables but it wont display it on the page

    Any help greatly appreciated>

    Check out

You may want to check here if you haven't already:

I had the same problem some time ago...turned out to be a problem with the path in the connection string, but I don't remember the details. Sorry.

Just thinking...by 'blue lock', you mean the icon?

If that's the case, you're probably working with an MDE file. Make sure that's reflected in the connection string. (yourdbfile.MDE)
