    I am trying to create a Global Temporary table

    DECLARE GLOBAL TEMPORARY TABLE SESSION.FRED
    (
    DEPT SMALLINT NOT NULL
    )
    ON COMMIT PRESERVE ROWS

    I am getting the following error
    A default table space could not be found with a page size of at least 4096
    that authorization Id WASADMIN is authorized to use sqlstate 42727.

    I have connected as WASADMIN.

    Do you have a 4k user temporary tablespace?

    If so, does WASADMIN have the right permissions?

    create user temporary tablespace fred
    managed by database
    using
    (
    file 'c:\db2\tempfred\fred1' 1000
    );
    grant use of tablespace fred to public;

    source sql cookbook

    I was then able to create Global temporary table,
    a file c:\db2\tempfred\fred1 with size 4k has been created

    Though I did this ? My question now is what is 1000 here.

    The number of 4k pages that determine the size of the container.
