Question Unanswered: Trap cancelling a parametre query for a report

A command button fires a report that uses a parametre query as its source. If the user cancels entering the parametre, how do you trap that event in code?

Get the parameter from them yourself via an input box instead of asking access to do it for you?
oh yeah... documentation... I have heard of that.

good idea Teddy... in fact, one day, someone needs to explain to me why the parameter query exists when we have nice thingys like input boxes or (deep breath) forms.

but just for my general education (...i don't use parameter queries ever), does A throw an error if a parameter query receives a null parameter, or does she sail happily on without a concern??
