    Exclamation Unanswered: insert query help

    I have a column of type varchar in tab1.
    I need to insert the value having '&' in the column value.

    eg. col1 is Company_name
    values : AT&T, DELL, P&G etc..

    How to insert these values in tab1, coz while inserting using insert into tab1 values ('AT&T') it is asking for the value T.

    Plz help.
    regards,
    Chary

    Arrow escape character

    you have to set a escape characted - usually \ is the default

    or

    in sql plus prompt type

    set escape '\'

    insert into table_name values('AT\&T');

    will insert AT&T into the table

    skg
