    Unanswered: SQL Server Backup

How do you specify in the Database Maintenance plan to specify the backup files to omit the date and the end of the backup file name ?
    like Contracts5_db instead of Contracts5_db_200407010200.BAK

    BACKUP DATABASE Contracts5_db
    TO FILE = 'd:\mssql\backup\Contracts5_db.bak'
WITH INIT --This starts a new backup file each time.

Don't use a maintenance plan. Schedule the above script instead to run once a day.

What's wrong with what it looks like now? I think it's a handy feature. Anyway, this is the default non-modifyable behavior of SQLMAINT/xp_sqlmaint.

I just want to do it as a once off so my restore scripts will work.
