    Unanswered: Backup

I noticed that sometimes Access creates a backup file but not always. Is there away to have it do it every time...like every 5-10 minutes. I have been creating a few mistakes that I can't get to undo or fix so I have to restart.

    Thanks

If you know the command of the backup put it in the timer Event, and adjust the timer to function every 17 minuts or as you like.

So I have been working for about 2 hours now, made a few changes, added a few records and that database backup didn't update at all. What the heck is happening?

Access makes a dbname_backup.mdb file whenever it crashes...
Did Access close without you asking for it? And maybe reopen the db right after, automatically? That is a somewhat "controlled crash". It makes a copy of the db in case it was corrupted during the crash, to make it (more?) possible to recover elements or do a repair on the _backup file if the original you are likely to continue working on turns out to be troublesome.

It is NOT a backup that relects anything that happens to the original database after its creation. Access will not touch it again after the _backup has been created.

No I didn't exit, or it didn't close automatically. I created a new DB, added a few tables, saved, closed and opened the folder with the db in it and it had dbname_backup.mdb.
