    Unanswered: Help with DTS

    Hi,

i have been given a task to import some text files into a database, these files are telnet accross to my database server.

what I want the DTS to do is check whether a file is in the directory, read the file import it to the database and delete it when it has finished, then move on to the next file.

I am not sure how to do this at all, I am assuming I need some VB script to handle the reading and deletion of the files, is this correct?

does anyone has any script that I modify to fit my needs?

A good place to look for DTS information is www.sqldts.com.

    Check out this link http://www.sqldts.com/default.aspx?299

It has an example of looping in an Active X script. I think I've done something similiar to what you're asking and I wrote bat files that are executed via the DTS package.
