    Unanswered: SQL Server

    If i do not add a specific column for the timestamp,
    Does SQL Server have a timestamp when records are added or edited ?

    Nope, if you don't add a timestamp column, SQL Server won't add one either.

    Actually, I'd be REALLY hacked off it if did. A database is pretty "low" in the application "plumbing". While it can do what it pleases with the OS and below, the database engine had better do EXACTLY what I tell it with the tables and above!
