Unanswered: Bad Import
I am trying to bring in a file from excel. It says "Subscript out of range." I can hit next, but I get that error each time. But when I am done it says it cannot be imported. Help please
Do you use the wizard to import a table from Excel to Acce$$?
Yes I do. I don't know another way to do so.
Look up the
DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputTable, yourTableName, acFormatXLS, yourOutputFilename & ".xls"
That looks like I am pushing it out into a xls file. I need the xls file in..
Just an idear
Is there too many columns in the data from Excel? i think MSAccess will choke on over 128 columns in a table (WHY WOULD ANYONE EVER WANT TO DO THAT!!!!!!!!) anyhoo. take a look there.
if that doesn't work, try splitting the excel spreadsheet up into to two worksheets in a new workbook and give that shot.
Well the data fills up columns A-S ...So what's that, around 20? But when I do the wizard, there is many many columns following the last. I tried to delete them I couldn't, so I just hid them. Now excell acts as they aren't there which is fine.
I think mjweyland is correct. If you're unable to delete the extra columns, try copying the needed data to another excel file.
Ok will do.
[EDIT] Yup it worked, Weird
