Im trying to connect to my Oracle 9i database on my own machine through Jbuilder9.

import java.sql.*;
public class DBHandler
{
public DBHandler()
{
try
{
System.out.println("TRYING TO LOAD ORACLE DRIVER");
Class.forName("oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver").n ewInstance();
System.out.println("REGISTERED THE ORACLE DRIVER");
Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("URL", "user", "passwd);
System.out.println("GOT ORACLE DRIVER AND CONNECTION OBJECT");
}
catch(Exception s)
{
s.printStackTrace();
}
}//constructor
}

What should the URL part be? Ive seen some tutorials that say jdbcracle:thin:@machineortID, but its not working.

I keep getting the following exception:

java.sql.SQLException: Io exception: The Network Adapter could not establish the connection.

StackTrace stops at
Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection("URL", "user", "passwd);

So Im assumming my URL is wrong.

Any help would be appreciative
