I am *trying* to make a database to track employees tips.
In the attached DB the form that comes up on startup is where data is entered using DSum to get the appropriate figures.
You enter the trans date, then the total amout of sales for the day and then move on to the sub form and choose an employee.
From there you enter that employees total sales and here is where I am flummoxed.
What I am trying to do using a query is to get an employees department total to show up. I am using =DLookUp("SumOftotalSales","qry_sales_by_dept","tr ansdate=#" & [transdate] & "# AND dept='es'") in the top field labeled "Espresso".
