Lightbulb Unanswered: Client identity as loging to App Server

I would like to know the identity of the client (machine name or IP address) through SQL Statement.

    we have three teir architecture:

Clients ----> Application (JSP) ----> DataBase

V$SESSION_CONNECT_INFO provides the identity as if connecting from application server to DATA BASE, not the actual client identity as it is loging from Client to Application Server.

The simplest solution is to create a logon trigger for the database
and insert into a new "audit" table the information necessary to
allow easy joins between existing tables & view & the IP# which is available.

Alternatively use external table(s) to map to Apache's access_log file
and get the IP#s from there.
You can lead some folks to knowledge, but you can not make them think.
The average person thinks he's above average!
For most folks, they don't know, what they don't know.
Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement.
