Angry Unanswered: Listener port cannot be used

    Hi,
The port 1521 cannot be used when am connecting from Net8 assiatant oracle 9i.....so i've to enter a different port number each time.
Also I cannot add a remote service to a listener while it was fine a couple of days ago...now it says "target host or object not found"

    Win 2k
    Oracle 9i

    Thanks,
    Pooja

You can use any port you want.
Be sure configure the server to reserve the specific port number you use.

Configure the listener and tnsnames and sqlnet files appropriately.
