Unanswered: Ping ok but TNSPING not

    Something very strange...
We have an application runing with Oracle 8. A client (whose work very well one week ago) can't connect to the application. The tnsping can't etablish the connection. I have re-install completly Oracle Application (the same installation like the others workstations), I have put the tnsnames.ora in the good folder. The connection is good : the ping reply but not the TNSPING.
A similar Workstation in the same room can etablish the connection .....

What can I verify to resolve the problem ?
Thanks if you reply to me....

(excuse me for my bad English.... I am French)

The TNS-12535 or ORA-12535 error is normally a timeout error associated with Firewalls or slow Networks. It can also be an incorrect listener.ora parameter setting for the CONNECT_TIMEOUT_<listener_name> value specified.

In essence, the ORA-12535/TNS-12535 is a timing issue between the client and server.

To resolve the Oracle & Windows firewall isssue !

Another resource to resolve the TNS-12535

    Hope that helps,

All the network configuration is good... The Oracle application was working very well 2 weeks ago...

We have installed an another network card and the application is working (and tnsping is OK) !!!!!!!!

We have re-install Windows 2000 with the motherboarded network card and tnsping is not OK.

Is something could be verified and changed in the configuration of the network card or something else before change it ???? Cause all the network is working very well (Internet, mail...) except TNSPING !!!!!!!!!!!!!
