    Lightbulb Unanswered: Spliting a column

I have a column that has the date and time in it. I need to split this into 2 fields in my query. Here is an example "12/8/2003 10:40:00 AM". I can't use left or right becuase the numbering is not same with same dates being shorter. I really need to find a way to split them by the space, similar to "Text to columns" feature in Excel. I would appreciate any sugestions.

uh... datepart? or use vba formatting.

If you want to do it purely by string manipulation, use InStr() to determine the position of your spaces.
oh yeah... documentation... I have heard of that.

    Teddy,

How does the datepart function work? I have never used it and can't seem to get it to do what I want it to. I need both the date and time into seperate columns. Thanks for your help!
