Arrow Unanswered: max length of message returned by SQLERRM

    Hi,
What is the max length of the message that can be returned by SQLERRM.
(only for oracle defined error messages and not user defined exceptions).

I want to insert this message in a table, and want to determine the length to be kept of column of the table.

    Thanks,
    Ishan

I always find reading the documentation is useful for questions like this - I recommend the practice to you!

    The key sentence here is:
The maximum length of an Oracle error message is 512 characters including the error code, nested messages, and message inserts such as table and column names.
