    Unanswered: Shutting the firehose.

How do I stop execution in SQL Plus worksheet. I did a select from a table with 10000 rows, and well, it just keeps scrolling and scrolling...
If it's not practically useful, then it's practically useless.

Hitting Ctrl-C will stop the query in Sql*Plus. However what this does is cancel the query at the server, any output that is in the firehose will continue. The only way to stop that is to close sql-plus. Ctrl-C will nicely stop a long running query, but it doesn't do much good if the query is already done.

You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.
