Thumbs up Unanswered: view increase performance nd avoid locking??

    im need a suggestion.
im having database in which tables vll be selected and updated simultaneously.
    Let me explain briefly
there vll b offline as well as online transaction
both can occur at the same time
online transaction vll try to retrieve data from a table
offline may b updating tat table .
actually i dont want the table to b locked while updating.
so if im creating views for retrieving data(at the time of offline transactuion)
is there any performance improvement in online transaction??

thanx for all who is ready to give suggestions

No, because selecting from a view means actually selecting from the base table of that view. However, I'm not sure what your problem is in any case: the fact that the "offline" transaction is updating a row will not prevent the "online" transaction from selecting it (unless you use "select for update").
