    Unanswered: How to add serial number

    Hello all,

    i m newbie in oracle developer

    i just have created a report

    in there i have placed a field named F_SNO which is repeating frame R_G_ITEM_CODE which is in M_G_ITEM_CODE_HDR (frame) which is in M_G_ITEM_CODE_GRPFR (frame) which is in R_G_WO_NO (repeating frame) which is in M_G_WO_NO_GRPFR (frame)

    now i only wana do that to display the serial number in the F_SNO field for the records in the R_G_ITEM_CODE frame (repeating)

    need an immediate reply

    Have you set the source for the field and the repeating frames yet?

    the report was generated by the wizard and i only added the label SNo and underneath that a field

    no i didnt set that field's source property

    what it should be

    The source has to point to the field returned by the query that you placed in the data model for the report.

    Set the source of R_G_ITEM_CODE repeating frame to the group F_SNO belongs to.

    Create One Summary Column and Set the Property Of Function to Count...This Summary Column Should Be Placed Within Repeating Group of Data Model Editor. Then In Layout Editor Put one Text Field and Set The Source Propert as This Summary COlumn....

    did that by adding

    SELECT rownum serial_num,

    in my report query

    any way thanX guys
