    Unanswered: MdbToMySQL - how do i import the file that is generated

    ran MdbToMySQL on a access database... Now what do i do with that file... I am such a newbie, trying to get up and running MICROSOFT FREE... I am running mysql on a linux box (Ver 8.23 Distrib 3.23.58, for redhat-linux-gnu on i386),

    MdbToMySQL let you create an export text file which contains the table structure and data of the MS Access database tables, as SQL statements.

    The next step is to import that into your MySQL database. I'd recommend installing and using phpMyAdmin to do it for ease of use.

    You can also use the MySQL command line utility mysqlimport. see http://dev.mysql.com/doc/mysql/en/mysqlimport.html
