My requirement is using Oracle Reports 6i, I would like to create a report, which will accept a parameter and based on that parameter’s value ( say ‘Y’ or ‘N’) the no of fields will display in report.
Say, if parameter values is ‘Y’ then 6(six) fields will display
and if parameter values is ‘N’ then 4(four) fields will display.
Have your query return all 6 fields, but put a format trigger on the two additional fields on the report. If the parameter is 'N' then supress the two additional fields by returning false on the trigger. The format trigger is in the property for the specific field in the layout that you want to effect.
You do not need a parachute to skydive. You only need a parachute to skydive twice.
